I think part of the reason the Galaxies Edge mobile game and maybe by extension the Cruiser one aren't very in depth might be because of the existence of a game called MagiQuest which is almost exactly how you described your dream game. The tech and idea behind MagiQuest are copyrighted however and the owners are very protective of it.
